Sketch Tuesdays (111 Minna, SF)

Each
month the gallery hosts an evening of live art making featuring both
established and emerging Bay Area artists. 111 Minna offers patrons the
opportunity to see local artists at work
and get acquainted with them. It is also a way for artists to meet each
other and to be inspired by each other’s creative proceee.
THURSDAYS
After Dark (Exploratoruim, SF)

An evening series exclusively for adults that mixes cocktails,
conversation, and playful, innovative science and art events. Not a
theater, cabaret, or gallery, After Dark contains aspects of all three.
Each evening showcases a different topic—from music to sex to
electricity—but all include a cash bar and film screenings, plus an
opportunity to play with our hundreds of hands-on exhibits.
Maker's Studio: Adult Art Nights at MOCHA (MOCHA, Oakland)

Third Thursdays, we invite the over-21 crowd to enjoy artmaking, beer wine and friends. No experience necessary for this creative night out. $5 cover charge (bring two friends and you come free!)

A downtown tradition since 1993, on the first Thursday of every month many of our member galleries are open late for a casual open house. If you are making a special trip to visit a specific gallery, we recommend that you call first. Most locations 5:30-7:30pm.

DANCE. Local choreographers Jacinta Vlach, Raissa Simpson, and Sheena

present solo work with LIVE accompaniment from their favorite musicians.

Nightlife (California Academy, SF)

Oakland Art Murmur is a coalition of art and cultural venues dedicated
to increasing popular awareness of and participation in the arts in
Oakland, with an emphasis on visual art. We promote visual art in
Oakland through collective marketing and outreach efforts and our
monthly First Friday events, which are open to the public and attended

Friday Nights at the de Young (de Young Museum, GGP, SF)

On Friday Nights, the entire museum stays open until 8:45 p.m. offering
a variety of interdisciplinary arts programs, including live music,
poetry, films, dance, tours, and lectures. The cafe and a no-host
cocktail bar are open for dinner and drinks. There are hands-on
art-making activities available for children and adults.
Haight Street First Friday Art Walk (Upper Haight, SF)

Features
live DJs and bands, painting, booksigning, discounted merchandise,
unique art, and more. Every month is a different theme featuring
independent young artists and unique artwork in participating stores.
WHAT’S THE DEAL: Haight Street Art Walk is a free event.
